Although that goes against the grain with some lawyers, if you're able to see through the legal stance of each side, it frees you up to find out what is driving each side commercially.

One side may have a looming year end that is causing an issue.

The other may have an issue with the contract.

Some understanding on both sides and a little creativity is sometimes all it takes to find a resolution.
